City police and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the death of a construction worker. The police chief says Ray Strawn, 41, fell about 25 feet from a crane on Sunday morning.
The accident happened at a construction site at Palace View Resort at 700 Blue Meadows Road. Strawn was inside a wooden box being lifted off the ground by a boom lift. When the box was about 25 feet in the air, it became unstable and fell from the lift with Strawn inside.
Strawn died at the scene. Branson firefighters, Taney County Ambulance and county coroner’s office responded to the accident.
Strawn was fireproofing a building at the time of the accident. He worked for a subcontractor. The primary contractor is Larry Snyder Construction.
The OSHA inspector arrived from Kansas City.
