A construction worker has been injured in an accident in southwest San Antonio.

The worker reportedly fell into a trench at a construction site in the 7300 block of Barlite Blvd. and Briggs Ave., near Southwest General Hospital.

That's where a crew was working on a drainage project, when a worker was knocked off the side of a 24-foot trench and fell.

The victim reportedly fell when the ladder he was standing on was hit by a falling crane bucket.

Fire rescue crews on the ground and hovering above the scene engineered a way to get him out and into a waiting ambulance.

They managed to get the 28-year-old out with what is described as non-life threatening injuries. He is being treated at University Hospital.
