State officials are investigating a fatal Oct. 15 construction accident at Briar Cliff University, an Iowa Occupational Safety and Health spokesman confirmed Thursday.
Jorge Ramon Morales, 35, of North Sioux City, was crushed by falling masonry at the site of an addition being built on Heelan Hall on the BCU campus. He was employed by W.A. Klinger Construction Co.
An OSHA inspector from Des Moines was dispatched to the Sioux City worksite after officials learned about the accident.
A report is expected in about a month, the spokesman said. It will include details from on-site inspections and interviews with employees and management.
