A worker is dead after being crushed at a construction site in Grand Prairie earlier this month.
Sean Taylor's family has unanswered questions about what happened.
Taylor was the father of four children who live in College Station, including two with Down syndrome.
Taylor traveled to Grand Prairie because that's where he could find work — at the site of an upscale outlet mall off Interstate 20 near Highway 360.
On September 17, Taylor was part of a crew erecting walls with the help of a crane.
"One panel was knocked into an adjacent panel, causing that panel to fall onto Sean," said Rob Crain, a lawyer for the Taylor family.
According to Grand Prairie police, Taylor tried to run — but could not get out of the way of the falling wall.
He was crushed and died instantly.
"The family wanted to get some answers to what happened," Crain said.
One of Taylor's last posts on his Facebook page said he was just happy to have a job. He was a master welder, and worked construction after leaving the Navy to support a family of six.
"Sean married a woman with three wonderful children — two have Down syndrome," Crain said. "They were as much a part of him as his son, Jacob."
Paragon Outlets, which plans open its new shopping center next year, released this statement:
Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family at this time. The OSHA-led investigation into the causes and circumstances of the accident is ongoing, and we await the results.
