West Metro Fire says a man was killed Friday afternoon in a construction accident.
Mike Murphy, a spokesperson with West Metro Fire, says the accident happened at single family home in the 14000 block of West Evans Place about 3:06 p.m.
Murphy says a retaining wall fell, releasing sand and fully burying one worker and partially burying another around the knees up.
The man who was buried and killed is reported to be in his 40s. His name has not been released.
West Metro arrived on the scene at 3:12 p.m. and rescue workers were able to get the man out within about 15 minutes. He was taken to an area hospital where he died.
The other man who was buried has minor injuries.
A neighbor told 9NEWS the accident was sad news for the entire neighborhood where there's lots of construction going on.
"I feel bad for the family members. These guys take a lot of risks building our homes. They walk along the rooflines and stuff. They take on a lot of dangerous work, so it's just incredibly sad when something like this happens," Ken Serra said.
