Rochester, N.Y.- A man who was trapped after a crane collapsed into the Genesee River gorge Tuesday has died.

The call came in around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday on Brewer Street, just off of St. Paul Street.

A spokesperson for Rochester Gas & Electric says the crane was...

involved in a project at its hydroelectric station.

Rochester firefighters say the crane was moving concrete when it tipped over. They had to call in special equipment from Henrietta to lift up the crane to try to free the man.

Around 8 p.m., firefighters said the man had not survived.
